Mealor’s new cycle for choir, Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal has been chosen as ‘Premiere of the Fortnight’ in the forthcoming October edition of Classical Music Magazine. The work, commissioned by the John Armitage Memorial Trust for their tour of Scotland in October, is a setting of four ‘rose’ texts. It will also be recorded by Con Anima Chamber Choir in November for their forthcoming Metier-Label CD, ‘Fire and Roses’.
