"If I cannot fly, let me sing.” Stephen Sondheim's beautiful lyric reminds us all of the power of music to transport us, to lift us as if flying; to heel us emotionally and teach us what it is that really matters in life. Thank you to the fabulous #SameStream Choir and James Jordan for the most exhilarating week in Philadelphia recording my music. It's been inspirational. When the final chords of 'The Lord Bless You and Keep You' fell on our last recording session, I felt very sad indeed that it was over.

First full rehearsal for my new requiem to beautiful words by Grahame Davies commemorating the centenary of the death of Hedd Wyn is tomorrow: hundreds of singers, children choirs, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, two TV crews from S4C and BBC 4 and actors, video screens, etc, etc...
